A very warm welcome to my blog and homepage. On this page I will create a documentation of my journey to CCIE R&Sv5 in 201. Further I do present my projects and other random IT related stuff as well, mainly including both VMWare and virtualization in general and programming related topics
My name is Daniel Herrmann, born in 1989, currently living in Darmstadt, Germany. Cisco networking is my main task during my work at Network Architect for the Fraunhofer Society. There I got in touch with networking stuff, and within the years I got much experience in that area. I also got some certifications, including the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Ciso Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIP) and a few others.
As you can see, my main interest is networking stuff – that will also be the topic this blog is all about. Recently I discovered some great things about virtualization, especially with VMWare. So do not be surprised if some posts related to that topic will also appear on that blog. However, as I’m currently heading for my CCIE #, the vast majority of topic will be network related.
In my free time (haha…) I further manage a somehow large PHP/MySQL project for the German Judo Federation (DJB), which might be the reason for one or another programming related posts. This leads to a big hobby of mine: Judo. While really funny, it blocks almost every weekend in a year. I passed my assessment for the 1. DAN (“black-belt”) in summer ’13 and I’m currently on my way to obtain my national referee license. Beside that (if there is any more time…) I really like to take my bike and have a ride through the forest, just as a way to relax myself.
Stay tuned for (hopefully) interesting posts from my CCIE journey, as well as some “border-topics”, which might come across.
